“With Christ I Live”

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith, which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.

I thought I had to fit the mold of magazines and video models to be happy. I loved fashion and having fun, but it took time with God and His transforming power and presence to show me I didn’t have to wear or do everything that I saw growing up. I thought fun was going to the club and wearing a bra with a suit jacket…YES! I was going to be the next big Video chick with the big butt and long hair. Our voids will lie to us and make fun, and happiness seem like it comes through getting drunk and sleeping around. I thought hanging with the popular kids would make life fun. As the years passed and God began to take me on different adventures, I realized I could enjoy life without the dark side of club life.

I met healthy Christians that loved God and that felt so freeing. I started traveling and experiencing new places. I’m a foodie, so trying new food is always fun. I love going to the beach and dancing and spending time in stillness by the water. You can heal in those moments. You can have fun as a Christian and feel alive. Whatever society has told you about being a young Christian is a lie. You don’t just wear long skirts and go to church and go home. You have the gift of community and family. Take a trip together. Call everyone on zoom and host a viral game night. Go to the new opening of a healthy movie.

Jesus is fun and loves to see us happy. We will deal with persecution, but there will still be joy in our suffering with Christ. So, go to a new movie and grab some healthy believing friends! Laugh, tell jokes, and love Jesus. Those are just my thoughts. What does fun and living a Christian life look like to you?
