Heaven on Earth
Genesis 1:1-3 — A Journal Reflection
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...”
These first words of the Bible anchor us in a powerful truth: God is the beginning of everything.
When we try to build without Him, when we place our hope in things that fade, confusion follows. We create idols out of status, people, perfectionism, or even our pain. But Genesis reminds us that before anything else was formed—God was already present.
And then, we see something beautiful.
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good...” (Genesis 1:3)
This Light isn’t just a flicker in the sky.
It’s Jesus.
And that same Light now lives inside of us.
God Saw the Light Was Good
What struck me in my journal time was the fact that God saw the light — and called it good. Before we ever accomplished a thing, God declared the Light (Jesus) good. And if Jesus lives in us, then God looks at us and says the same thing: “It is good.”
How often do we forget this truth?
Light and Darkness Cannot Mix
God didn’t just speak light into existence — He separated it from the darkness. There’s intentionality here. A clear line. A holy divide. We’re not called to blur the lines; we’re called to stand out. To be radiant. To be hope. To bring Heaven into every dark corner of the world around us.
We are called to be light-bearers — not just in words, but in how we live, love, forgive, serve, and shine.
Journal Prompt:
In what way is God calling you to be the light in the world right now?
Maybe it’s in your home, your workplace, your online influence, or simply how you treat the next person you meet.
Ask Him. Write it down. And let the Light lead you.
Your light has purpose. Your presence carries Heaven. You were made for such a time as this.
Let there be Light — in you.
